Innoject, Inc. is now Pharma-Pen, Inc.

Athens, TX –April 11, 2005- The Shareholders and Board of Directors of Innoject, Inc. have approved a resolution to change the name of the company to Pharma-Pen, Inc. The name, Pharma-Pen, Inc., more clearly conveys our future strategic focus. We will continue to develop and market easy-to-use devices to improve the quality of life of patients that require injection therapy.

The company’s Confi·Dose™ product group has been cleared by the FDA and is now in limited US distribution. Confi·Dose™ is designed to be hand filled and intended for single use automatic injection of personalized doses of drugs and biologics. Activated by depressing a button as one would with a ball point pen, Confi·Dose™™ automatically extends the needle to a pre-determined depth, injects the liquid, and withdraws the needle back into the interior of the device. At no time during the process is the needle visible to the patient, and the automatic needle retraction mechanism is intended to aid in the prevention of accidental needle sticks. This product can only be used as prescribed by and under the supervision of a physician.

Pharma-Pen, Inc. has just been notified that Confi·Dose™ is a winner of the 2005 Medical Design Excellence Awards. Sponsored by MD&DI and organized by Canon Communications LLC, MDEA is the premier awards program for the medical technology community. It recognizes the achievements of medical device manufacturers, their suppliers, and the many people behind the scenes--engineers, scientists, designers, and clinicians-who are responsible for the groundbreaking innovations that are changing the face of healthcare.

In addition to Confi·Dose™ , Pharma-Pen, Inc. is developing another product group intended for injecting standard unit doses of drugs or biologics. Whereas Confi·Dose™ is hand filled, this group is designed to be filled in the sterile filling suite of the drug manufacturer. These products are being developed with a grant from National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Again as with Confi·Dose™ , the patients never see the needle®. Other injection systems are in earlier stages of development.
