Directors and Officers
President, Co-Founder, Director: Richard
D. Gillespie III
Richard (Rick) Gillespie has a broad background in leading edge
medical device design, process engineering, manufacturing, quality
assurance and business management. Rick is a licensed professional
engineer in the State of Texas and the inventor of our auto
injector.
Creating and integrating technologies from diverse fields and transforming
these elements into world-class product solutions and manufacturing
systems are his specialty. Rick has twenty-three years of broad-based
experience in the medical device engineering and manufacturing
industry spanning a wide variety of market sectors. Rick is particularly
skilled at building teams of highly skilled and motivated professionals
in a high growth manufacturing environment. Rick earned a BS in
Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in
1979, and is registered as a Professional Engineer in the State
of Texas.
Co-Founder, Director: M. Mark Lesher
Mark Lesher is a practicing attorney and a licensed
pharmacist. He currently owns a broad general civil practice involving
personal injury litigation. Mark has been in private law practice
since 1973 in Texarkana, Texas. Mark and Rick have worked on other
medical device development projects since 1993. Mr. Lesher earned
a B.S. Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin in
1969 and J.D. from the University of Texas in 1972.
Director: Richard M. Winters
Richard (Dick) Winters recently resigned as the
Chief Executive Officer of Pharma-Pen, Inc. a post he held since
September 1, 2003. Dick remains a member of the Board of Directors,
a post he has held since March 2001. Before coming to Pharma-Pen,
Dick served for 10 years as Vice-President of Operations for Mitek
Worldwide, a Johnson & Johnson company. Rick Gillespie, Pharma-Pen's
President, reported to Dick Winters during the mid-1980's while
both were employees of Argon/Weck, a Bristol Myers Squibb company.
Dick has over 30 years experience in large and small medical device
companies in general management, manufacturing, and product development
positions. He earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania
State University.
Chairman: Donald G. Wilson
Donald (Don) Wilson has broad experience in business
management and manufacturing operations in a wide variety of product
areas. Don served as a director and as the interim Co-Chief Executive
Officer of American Iron Horse, Inc. from May 2003 through October
2003. Don served as CEO of Veneer Solutions, located in Clarksville,
Texas; and as managing partner of H-W Investments and Development,
located in Paris, Texas, since 1978. Don has served as a Director
of Liberty National Bank, located in Paris, Texas, since 1980;
and served on the board of directors of Paris Packaging Co., located
in Paris, Texas. He previously served as Owner - President of Rodgers-Wade
Manufacturing, located in Paris, Texas, from 1968 to 1997. Don
earned a BBA degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Director: James C. Collet
James (Jim) Collet is Founder and President of Sheridan
Industries, Inc., a private equity investment firm focused on the
acquisition of manufacturing and value added distribution companies
located primarily in the southwestern United States. He is also
CEO of JetStar Energy, an oil field equipment supply company. Prior
to the formation of Sheridan, Mr. Collet spent ten years in the
investment banking business, holding senior positions with Service
Asset Management Company (SAMCO Capital Markets) and Ernst & Young
LLP. In those positions, his responsibilities included capital
raising, mergers and acquisitions advisory, recapitalization and
financial consulting activities primarily for middle market companies.
Jim is a past President of the Dallas Chapter of The Association
for Corporate Growth, has served on the Board of Directors of the
American Heart Association and the Dallas Heart Ball, and is Chapter
Chairman of the Lone Star Chapter of the Young President’s
Organization and serves on the Western Region Board of Directors
for the organization. Jim holds BBA and MBA degrees, earned with
distinction, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
